Neil Jordan's new vampire flick Byzantium - excited?

Neil directed, of course, Interview with the vampire, so it is interesting to see him picking up another. Maybe because its too much of a possible money maker to pass?

Hmmm. I once saw a GREAT "bloodless" vampire-movie. Low budget-"intellectual"-kinda-movie. It had Jude Law in it. "the Wisdom of Crocodiles". Pretty good. Wonder if this one can top it.

It hasn't got good reviews because it's the most non-vampy vampfilm,ever and typically british, understated, filmmaking. Which confuses. It's more of a "complicated" relationship-movie. I have to say that Jude's acting in this movie is probably the best he's ever done. Very understated. Jude instantly became my movie-husband. His chracter is almost exactly the kind of guy, I would fall for:P

I watched it last night. It was indeed suprising but I would not call it artsy. Its actually pretty simple story about impossible love. The beginning is tad clumsy, middle parts are bit boring but the ending redeems it. Thanks for the hint!
