We had municipal elections yesterday. Did vote but I don't think my candidate made it.

The superstorm headed toward the east coast sounds quite frightening!

Hurricane Sandy has arrived. It was so windy today that this afternoon I had to lock the door and put up a sign telling people to know very loud and I would let them in. The wind kept blowing the door open and ringing the shop bell driving me crazy. At one point I was being all goofy talking baby talk to the bunnies and when I looked around a woman was up front looking at me all Looked at her and said "welcome to the crazy mans store" and laughed.

been on hold with comcast for a while! they are making me wait long on purpose cause I want to talk to a retention specialist about changing and lower my bill before I cancel their asses and go with the dish network!

that half hour on hold was worth it cause I got a new one year deal which is going to cost a little bit less but with more features I didn't have before

I am so tired! Went to bed little too late but still could not sleep. And now I am at work and should do this and that but I am just staring at the screen in zombie mode.

I think the worst of the storm is over thankfully, I beseeched my kin in the north, the storm gods, to reign in this fury.

I was wondering about Michele myself. She is pretty close to landfall. I think we have had worse winter storms than what we got last night. Those fires that burned 50 houses in Queens New York were horrific to me. Can you imagine your house being on fire and in chest deep water !

Had a really good long weekend, hotel great, saw 3 shows in London - rock of ages musical, Alice Cooper and Billy Elliot musical. Also went in London dungeon!

I can't believe the pictures of New York, but they've gotten away lightly compared to what Katrina did to NO

I'm not sure we know the full scale of it yet. It does look so bad. So many millions without power in the aftermath.

at the game yesterday ...my bro in law and his friends were flirting with the Nextel girls.... oy vey. They were like 19 yrs old. eww. Thats a kid.
My hubby stayed with me and made sliders and fries for us. Good boy.
The chicks were ok looking, but he didnt care. His eyes were on me. lol. its corny but true.

One of my bro in laws biker friends was tripped out we dont facebook. Rick was like..umm no we dont have one. whats wrong with that? Oh and they were shocked we dont have kids. worry about your own life. lol

750.000 people without power in lower Manhattan, NYC Stock Exchange still closed, Subway which 5 million people use every day. The most devastating is breezy Point 80 to 100 homes burned to the ground.

The flooded subway pics of NY, the famed seaside boulevard of NJ devastated...this really was a frightening terrible storm which has affected millions of people and will cost I hear in the billions

There is talk of how this would affect the elections, if some of the states decide to reschedule the elections this thing could get way ugly and could end up in the Supreme Court again

The storm hit here too but we got off easy: A bit of flooding, some large branches torn from trees and requiring cleanup, shingles blown off the roof of the house and some of the outbuildings but we didn't lose power and all in all, a lucky escape.

I just got in touch at last via internet with a friend in Jersey who is without power and as she says" a prisoner" due to downed power lines blocking the roads. Still trying to reach my cousins in Nova Scotia which also got reamed but with no luck.

I'm feeling terribly depressed right now. Counting my blessings and looking forward to Halloween tomorrow but the black dog, as Churchill referred to his depressions is nipping at my heals.

I'm off to bed now and hopefully will be on the upswing by tomorrow.

Oh speaking of the upswing, my lovah Mark Ballas will be back on DWTS next week. Yay.

I looked at the storm pictures all day yesterday too but.. I was left without worlds. Mother nature... she sure is something.

I am fine!!!!! nothing major happened where I am at. Yes it was very windy and lots of rain, some fallen trees but at my apartment all I got was some tree branches flying into the building, did not cause any damage to the windows or building nor my car. Also I was very fortunate in that I did not lose power AT ALL, and my cable did not go out at all either.

I was watching footage last night on the news of new york and new jersey!! YIKES!!! Glad I still dont live in new jersey! I dont get the people that dont heed the evacuation warnings. They are crazy! It is horrible what has happened to NY and NJ, I did not expect that at all.

they said it will cost about 20 billion which is insane!

Jane, do you guys ever get hurricanes over in europe at all? I dont think you do but I was just curious
