I think Unions were a force for good in the past, no doubt about it but many of them have become SO powerful that they have become corrupt and drunk with that power. I mean seriously, WHERE IS YOUR HUMANITY when there is a crisis of this magnitude and you tell people willing to help out to go away???

Well I'm off to my regular first Friday of the month Night in Istanbul tarot reading give. I'm all tarted up in my gypsyesque gear (it's a theme night... people like it!) and I feel... Blech. Like I wish I could just cocoon at home. Oh will another day another dollah, heigh ho heigh ho!

Stressed because I am behind on my essay that has to be submitted by midnight on Sunday. I'm off to see the Killers tomorrow and am staying in a hotel for the night so that only leaves me Sunday afternoon/evening.

You guys get Cloud Atlas already? We don't get it until January or February. I am looking forward to it as I loved the book.

In Nottingham queuing outside the venue. So many people here already! I think I'm going to the hotel at 2pm cos it's too cold!

I agree with you sheila about unions, they started off good but have turned into a lot that is wrong with them and sometimes I think they should be abolished. Good for you for sending care packages! I still cant believe how bad jersey and NY got damaged for a storm that was less than a level 1 when it got here. Insane

I cannot believe how broke I am. Seriously I have never made so little money since I was in highschool!!!!


Last week I only made $200 for the whole week. Had only 3 appts at the spa, went to the restaurant friday night and had NO tables. Sunday because the storm was coming it was dreadfully slow at the restaurant and I only made $32 in a 7 hour shift. I did a small spa party for 2 people on saturday from my mobile spa business but that was only $60 that I made since it was only 2 people.

I didn't think it could be even worse than last week, but I was wrong. This week I had 3 colonics at the spa, today I was supposed to have 5 appts but we had to close today due to a septic tank leaking into the spa. I am called out at the restaurant tonight because it is too cold out (we are still doing outdoor dining primarily) and tommorrow I might get called out as well possibly, but I just sent my manager an email telling her that I desperately need to work tom. SO I have made $54 so far this week.


I just want to cry cry cry. And not only am I not making any money, but I am bored out of my mind! I cant do anything but hang out in my apartment cause I have no money to go out and do anything!

I applied at a couple of restaurants yesterday. The one place said he will call me on monday or tuesday. I really hope he hires me!!!!! I have to get out of the Logan Inn. Now that it is cold the money there sucks and it will only get worse for the next few months there, not worth working there.

Oh thank goodness! I was worried! About you, I mean, not the union story which did actually occur. I guess they have sorted through the red tape now and hopefully things will be back to normal in NJ etc soon.

How will this affect the election I wonder? It's tomorrow, right?

Tuesday. I am so tense about it. This is without a doubt the most important election of my life and I am scared quite frankly. Too many stupid people out there that are just not seeing what can really happen and the disastrous acts that could follow if the election went wrong. The electoral college map is the only thing giving me real hope right now since the polls are so close. Sorry, I know this should have really been in the other thread.

I knew there was something I keep forgetting to tell you. I had a really nice phone call with Steve that used to come here all the time. We are always talking at Facebook and decided we needed to speak to each other "in person". He was very interesting to talk to and very funny. Odd that he had no trace of a Texas accent at all. Not even southern for that matter. I wish he would post here more.

That's nice to hear, I don't think Steve has joined this version of the forum, pretty sure I would have included him when I sent a facebook message to people to let them know we had moved.

Well that weekend went to fast it is unreal! Been to see the Killers, touched Brandon Flowers (as did lots of other people on the front row!) did my 500 word essay and submitted it 3 hours before deadline.

Caught up on some tv, not sure about American Horror story, I will give it a chance though as last series was amazing.
